Meeting Complete!

After a long and thorough meeting the NSHL has several new changes for the better. This year we are abandoning the divisions and every team will play each other once. This means only seven regular season games will be played. This will give us more time for the playoff games, with its new format. This year 6 teams will make the playoffs with the top 2 teams getting byes. There will be 8 teams with New England Warhammer out and Adam Doucette's Tune Squad in. Season 2 will commence June 2nd.

Mandatory League Meeting This Saturday

The NSHL will hold a mandatory league meeting Saturday April 23rd at 1pm. Anyone team that does not have a representative or the league fee will be out of the league. There will be a ton of important topics including expansion teams, division realignment, scheduling, rule changes, and other important topics. This meeting is extremely important and teams can bring as many representatives as they want.

League Meeting Tomorrow

The Norton Summer Hoops League will have its second ever league meeting tomorrow night at 6pm. The meeting will be held at my house, and if you need directions just let me know. This meeting isn't mandatory, but anyone who can make it should because there will be a plethora of important topics discussed. Some things on the agenda are league expansion, uniforms, scheduling, roster transactions, and playoff structure. Everyone is welcome.

Norton Hoops League Bans K2

With the recent surge of K2 in athletes, the Commish will have to put a ban on K2 being used in the Norton Summer Hoops League.

Reporting by ThePostGame.com shows K2 use may be on the rise in the athlete population –- not only at various levels of amateur sport, but in professional sports as well. “I go straight weed in the off-season,” one NFL veteran told ThePostGame.com on condition of anonymity. “Then, in-season, when they test, I go to [K2].”

“It’s a danger to anybody who thinks this is a legal way to get high without being caught,” says Jay Schauben, director of the Florida Poison Control Center. “The possible side effects include significant hallucination, cardiac effects, seizures, rapid heart rate, hypertension, severe agitation, passing out, and panic attacks.”

Even though K2 is sold at some gas stations and is legal, we just cannot condone this. Truthfully what you do on your on time is none of the league's business but if we got kids seizuring up, seeing Jimmy Hendrix talking to them on the court, or passing out while playing, the league isn't gonna last much longer. Because of this I gotta make a rash decision. Due to the fact that our league is financially restricted, I will just have to use the honor system. If anyone says their on K2 they're banned. POW! The gavel has sounded!

You gotta give it to the guy, pure passion at its finest. If the ref sucks let him know. He even had the crowd on his side. The Hatchet, the school newspaper said, "He did get a bigger ovation when he was thrown out than when he was on the court for his donation,"

P.S. The guy says this will not affect him donating to the school in the future. Mr. rich UConn donor doesn't get his football coach and has a public temper tantrum, while Bob Kasmir throws his hands in the air like he's on a roller coaster ride as he exits the arena.

P.S.S. This ref makes$1,600 a game? We're struggling for $100 sponsors and this ref is making enough money per game to fund our whole league. Oh the irony! Give it a few years Norton Summer Hoops is going World Wide!

Sponsorship Search

This year we are getting sponsors for every team in order to afford jerseys. Anyone that has an idea of any business that would be a good sponsor let me know. The Commish will take any kind of sponsor, it doesn't matter if it's Sally's Sidewalk Lemonade Stand or Kyle's Knife Shop. We're like a fat girl in high school. Anything will do. If you have any ideas message the Commish or comment below.

In Search for Writers

Especially when the season starts, the Commish would like some more people to also post for the blog. This way they can post recaps of their games because obviously I live for this league, but I won't be attending every game. You don't need Pedro Gomez skills, but also if your greatest writing asset is getting a C minus on you junior year English mid term this job probably isn't for you. Also don't think writing for this is some overbearing burden. If you only wanna do the minimum, all you have to do is a post once a week on your game. Max 20 minutes a week. Don't go thinking you gotta show up to other games with a pen and a notebook deciphering plays or losing sleep over witty one liners. Just give us the score, who dominated the game, and what kid probably shouldn't show up next week if he knows what's best for the team. First League Meeting Announced:

The Commish has announced the first meeting of the year. It will be on March 16th at the humble abode of the Commish. Numerous important topics will be discussed including conference realignment, league expansion, game days, uniforms, team fees, and more. It is an open meeting so anyone is allowed (you do not have to be a team captain to be there).

League Expansion Update! Team Leaving Rumor!

A source who shoveled Stuart Scott's driveway has confirmed that possibly up to 3 expansion teams have confirmed to enter the Norton Summer Hoops League. On a more important note, another source has stated one of the Ancient 8 teams may be dismantling entirely and not returning this year.
